Withholding tax

Foreignvendorinvoiceinwithholdingtaxandtreatyrateout

Applying the right withholding rate to a foreign invoice means reading the invoice, finding the treaty and checking that it was in force on the invoice date. Integrate Tax reads the invoice with OCR, finds the withholding lines, looks the rate up, and shows the source it used.

How it works

  1. Upload the vendor invoice

OCR reads a foreign-vendor invoice and detects the withholding lines on it.

  2. The treaty rate is looked up, not guessed

For each line, a lookup grounded in a web search finds the treaty rate between the buyer’s and the vendor’s country for that type of income, on the invoice date. It returns the rate, the treaty article, whether the treaty was in force on that date, and the source it read.

  3. A reduced rate only where a treaty applies

Where the lookup finds a treaty in force, the reduced rate is applied. Where it cannot verify one, the rate falls back to the treaty rate saved in your tax master, and then to the statutory rate.

  4. Review, then import as a purchase

The source sits beside each rate and the result is ready to import as a purchase. Your advisor confirms the rate and the vendor’s eligibility — residence and beneficial ownership, for example — before it is relied on.

Calculate WHT, VAT, TRC rate with OCR by AI (SAR)

On a foreign-vendor invoice, HUMAN-AI-Z detects the withholding lines, checks the double-tax treaty between the buyer’s and vendor’s country, applies the reduced rate where a treaty is in force, and shows the source it read — ready to import as a purchase.

Common questions

Where does the rate come from?

From a lookup grounded in a web search. It returns the treaty article, the date the treaty came into force and the source it read, so the figure can be checked rather than taken on trust.

Does it decide whether a vendor qualifies for the treaty rate?

No. It supplies the rate and its evidence; the licensed advisor confirms the vendor’s residence, beneficial ownership and the other conditions. Integrate Tax is not a tax firm and gives no tax advice.

What if no treaty can be verified?

The rate falls back to the treaty rate saved in your tax master and, if there is none, to the statutory rate.
